So what will you choose?
Bright Future VS Interest How many would choose interest?
Money makes the world goes round. Money can fill you up with all the materialistic wants. Money can make you happy. Yeah, Happy.
If you hope for a LV bag for years(maybe since young), you yearned for a BRANDED bag. You know you can't use your parents money just for this... materialistic thinking of yours. So you decided to get a good job, that got bright future so that you can afford all the materialistic thinking you want for years. & with the job that you hold you can fulfill even more material goods.
Ahhh~ the thought of it feels good right? Get everything you want and you can? Right? But... this good job with bright future is really what you want? What about your dreams? What about the interest you had when you were young?
You have to pay for it. You have to pay a price for fulfilling your material wants. & that would most probably your happiness. Yes, i did mentioned, buying those LV bags will make you happy. After buying the first you would be excited and have a great sense of accomplishment! Screaming and showing off to everyone out there and telling people that "Hey! i got a LV bag~!". The second one you will still be excited. Third one... Forth one... Their sense of happiness would slowly decrease. Subsequently the sense of excitement happiness would disappear.
By then your material happiness is gone. Where can you find your happiness? No where.
Now talk about interest. Parents always teach us to become useful people when you grow up. What's their definition of useful? Lawyer, Doctor, Teacher, those that can earn big bucks and most importantly they are SECURE JOBS. So that's their definition.
What about fashion designer, the one that design the newest trend? What about a baker/cook, the one that cook delicious food for us? What about the photographer, that take nice picture when you get married? Aren't they useful people too?
YES THEY ARE. DEFINITELY. They earn big bucks too? YES, THEY CAN EARN BIG BUCKS TOO! Then why? Why our parents didn't mention them? Cuz they think that all these jobs ain't secure. Okay, I think it's abit unfair to point it to the parents. That's what a lot of people (people at our age) think so too.
Often enough, people give up their interest for their so-call future, i think it's not worth it. Everything you do there's a price to pay. So for the sake of interest, give up on your pathetic material thinking. That won't make you a happier person. In singapore, you won't die of hunger. You will sure have the pay that ensure you 3 meals, yeah... not idealistic but at least you will be happy with the way you are. Work harder! In your dream job, your hard work will be paid! & i believe you will gain both happiness and $$ then :D
